I was just poking around and stumbled over yet another space mmorpg that is in the works. I'm a little surprised, it sounds really great and is looking stunning. Has anyone else checked out Infinity?

Looks to be a massive scale project by a small indie team, with community contributions and already features a combat prototype that players can help test the game out while having a bit of fun. You can fly from space right down to the planets, go anywhere you can see. Its a massive procedurally generated universe. Frankly I'm amazed at what they've achieved so far. :)

Found some pre-alpha footage of the combat engine prototype test engine. This is not the fully functional game, but gives you an idea of gameplay in action for combat.

Hey Reoh,

I actually saw a video of this game a couple years ago, someone tried to pass it off as a planetary flight video for EvE. It is certainly a beautiful game engine, with seemless space/planets. If they manage to make it anything like elite (able to fly down and dock at stations on planets etc), it will be pretty cool :)

Hahaha yeah I hear that Drac. As you know I caved and started playing Eve to sate that thirt I've had for the genre. Hopefully BP should be launching soon, and JGE... not too near off? I hope? I don't think Infinity will be coming out to the public for a couple years yet.

omfg that was stunning... just wow, I've wanted a space sim game that does that for ages... now I'm gonna be strung out waiting for yet another awesome looking game to come out
