Default Starquest Online

StarQuest Online by Castle Thorn Software

In StarQuest Online, players can assume the persona of a character living, exploring, fighting, and possibly dying in the 23rd Century. As a intrepid Starfleet officer, swashbuckling pirate, devious smuggler, deadly bounty hunter, wealthy merchant, or ordinary civilian, players shape this world and its history into whatever they wish.

Features of Starquest:

Scientifically accurate starmap containing over 17,000 unique star systems containing over 100,000 unique planets
Play as a person, not a starship
Open player vs. player combat, with safe zones patrolled by police or security forces
Open starship vs. starship combat, with safe zones patrolled by military warships
Serve on military starships in a number of crew positions
Advance in rank to command your own starship
Player owned starships
Player owned housing
Player owned colonies
Unlimited amount of gameplay options, you have the galaxy in your hands.

I am Legion on the forums. If anyone is interested in this game I would be happy to help them get started. The learning curve is more of a brick wall, but this is the most in depth, feature rich, and complicated MMO I've ever played. The only problem is the TINY community. The player base is miniscule, and there is the "goood ole boys club" that thinks it belongs to them.

There is a 30 day trial on offer.

Looks rather feature rich, but the graphics are really dated if my digging on youtube was accurate.

The graphics aren't great but they have done a complete overhaul of them. Stuff you're finding on youtube is probably a bit outdated. This game is way too big and feature rich to have state of the art graphics. Think of it as Ultima Online in space. There are no zones or loading screens. You can be standing on a planet and see ships in orbit.

The footage was a few years old so that's definately possible. Care to share some more of your first hand thoughts on why you enjoy it? (=

I think the freedom is my number one response to this. This game is a great sandbox. It's full pvp. You can join one of the military factions or be a freelancer. You control your avatars, and actually sit down at the helm (plus other stations) to pilot the ship. The newest patch allows you to give lower ranked players who are offline in your faction simple orders. I play a pirate, and Klinshay (the warrior race) You can actually kidnap other players, and inject them with chemicals to reduce their attributes, or increase them. Everything in the game is player made. You can found yoru own colonies and build up the defenses, and become a wealthy governor. Ther eis a working in game player law system. The features go on and on. Ships are fully customizable. Weight matters in your speed. You even have to use the bathroom, and can use that fact to escape captivity if needed. It's more of a simulator than an MMO I guess maybe I posted in the wrong section now that i think about it...

This game is for people who are looking for depth in their MMO.
