Can't see an online MMO working like that.
I was never into LARPing, always seemed a bit too silly, wasn't ever much of a fan of vampire RPGs either, lots of my friends played them but, shrug, I was pale enough and had such a cruddy sleeping cycle that roleplaying at it seemed a tad wanky.
However, some of the sessions of other games I played were very political and social. Amber is a great system for that, it's actually a diceless RPG
. You play demigods and at the start of the game everyone bids for what traits they want to be "best" at. If you're better at something than another demigod you'll always trump them, you just have to hope the demigod you're trying to bend to your will doesn't have some agreement with another demigod that's better than you in that area or finds a way to change the cntest into something they're better at. Soooooo much backstabbing and whispering behind closed doors in that one, it's hilarious.
