Isn't EVE Online a very political game?

If political means full of gankers and scammers?

When I LARPed Vampire and Werewolf, we used rock-paper-scissors to do combat when it happened which wasn't often, so I follow Mesar on this... not sure how this will translate, but I did love Bloodlines. The haunted house was excellent.

I think that is fairly accurate personally.

I used to play MAGE on a regular basis and my friends used the LARP Vampire and Werewolf. I still think MAGE is one of the best RPG's due to the unfettered boundaries for imagination. WoD did a lot of things right.

I will admit to a little LARPing of Vampire back a long time ago and I think that EVE has the sandbox setup for it really well done for the whole WoD environment. My only concerns are with the lack of aesthetics in Eve, if they can improve and bring that up to a level that can help with the immersion then they should have this nailed.

There were some issues within the world with there being significant imbalances if I remember right but I haven't played in a long time. WoD was great especially LARP because people were so passionate about it, it will be wonderful if that carries over to this.

Can't see an online MMO working like that.

I was never into LARPing, always seemed a bit too silly, wasn't ever much of a fan of vampire RPGs either, lots of my friends played them but, shrug, I was pale enough and had such a cruddy sleeping cycle that roleplaying at it seemed a tad wanky.

However, some of the sessions of other games I played were very political and social. Amber is a great system for that, it's actually a diceless RPG. You play demigods and at the start of the game everyone bids for what traits they want to be "best" at. If you're better at something than another demigod you'll always trump them, you just have to hope the demigod you're trying to bend to your will doesn't have some agreement with another demigod that's better than you in that area or finds a way to change the cntest into something they're better at. Soooooo much backstabbing and whispering behind closed doors in that one, it's hilarious.

The Bloodlines haunted hotel was the 2nd creepiest moment in gaming (after the Cradle in Thief 3) IMO.

I'd really like to see Underworld remade with the rock-paper-scissors combat.

This MMO's developers are flirting with Permadeath.
