Default Lego Universe - Preorders Open 14th May

Doesn't appear to be a lot of people here watching this one, but I'll be playing it with the kids.

Well Pre-orders opened, and I couldn't order it.

On Contacting support I get the following reply

Quote:
Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Unfortunately LEGO Universe is not available for Australia yet.

We are really sorry that we cannot help you but we're hoping to expand the service to include more countries soon.

Listening to what LEGO fans have to say helps us get better and better so I'm going to pass your comments on to the team in charge of this area.

Thanks again for getting in touch.

Best wishes,

Senait Gerensea

Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest, but here's the response I got

Quote:
Thank you for your email and yes, I am the person responsible for LEGO Marketing for Australia & New Zealand.

Australia and New Zealand aren’t excluded in the launch of LEGO Universe, however we aren’t the first markets to launch this product. LEGO Universe is due to launch in the UK/ Central Europe and the US this year and is scheduled to launch in Australia/NZ mid – end 2011. The reason for this is that the LEGO Universe team needs to build the server/hosting infrastructure in Asia to support the playing of LEGO Universe in ANZ and as they are focusing on the launch in the above countries at the moment - we are next in the priority queue.

My apologies that you have been receiving emails asking you to pre-order LEGO Universe – I will endeavor to do my best to get ANZ consumers who have signed up for information on LEGO Universe, removed from any communications that don’t relate to the launch in ANZ.

Lego is only ever interested in their largest market, The USA. Even UK/Europe come second to this.

I was looking forward to this one too, but if I have to wait until end 2011, they can shove the game up their jumpers.

I'm seeking some clarification as to if we can get onto US servers, and possibly transfer once our servers go live.

Nice work Brootal. My kids have been sharing the hype for this and will be bitterly disappointed if they cannot play for another 18 months.

Given that in many games we play with average pings, I would be keen to know if they will actively block Australian IP addresses from joining their US servers. If the will let our IPs connect, I'll look at importing a copy. It would be interesting to know their EULA stance.

Cheers,
-T.

Yea I'm in the same boat, 2 kids who are loving the Lego wii games, and are desperately waiting for this, 4-5 months is hard enough, 18, impossible

Good job Brootal on that initiative.

Perhaps if we could get a TOG journalist volunteer to share this info with the community. Especially for those who may have kids who are interested in this Mmo game title. (that live in Oceana) But may have missed this thread entirely.

For myself i applied for the closed beta but never got an invite.
