Default Hey all, which of these 2 mmorpg's would you be most interested in

Hey all

Basicly im just trying for abit of fun to make a mmorpg using the realm crafter pro engine, I know the amount of work needed, maybe i will only get as far as a few zones made, i dont know.. Something constructive to do..

Anyway ive got 2 rough ideas at the moment and would like some comments on what you all think would be best and most commercially viable not that it will get that far.

First idea: A western game, set in the wild west with it being a free for all pvp game, with maybe scripted pvp missions for guilds where you rob banks etc. I was toying with the idea of outlaw/sheriff with you choosing which way to go via quests, i.e do summut bad you get outlaw rep, rep being reset to 0 when you get pvp killed.

Second idea: Set high in the sky this world consist of small floating islands connected by zepplins, This is set in fantasy style. The aim of this one is to have no solo grinding etc, gear/spells/and even some profession materials all from farming instances. Maybe 3-5 instances for each tier, the whole idea of it is to scrap alot of solo content and allow people to just instance and gear up. Also with this maybe offer some open ffa pvp lands with lots of profession materials etc

Thanks

I like either. The first sounds more novel, the second sounds similar to Allods Online (each floating island is an "Allod").
The artstyle is quite important to me, probably more so than the actual setting, though I'd like to see more Steampunk stuff out. Steampunk Western would be interesting I reckon, probably end up along the lines of Fallen Earth but be good possibly. I'd do whatever one you'd be more interested in finishing

Some good ideas but I think I would like to try the Wild West. I have been playing Red Dead Redemption lately and have been enjoying that setting.

Yes and no. I would say yes, but apparently some changes have been made in the last patch which make it less friendly to to pure free to play players.
I liked it, but am personally a bit over the artstyle used (WoW/WAR type). TOG has some solid members playing it, I would ask in the Allods subforum

I would think the 2nd option. The first option, while it sounds good, open PVP can be a difficult thing to get right. As a first attempt I would take the easier option.

[edit] Just to add, either genre sounds fine.
