TOG has two in game societies (one on each available server) as follows:

1. Brethern/Pirate Faction on Antigua (US Peak Playtime)

2. French National Faction on Roberts (Eu Peak Playtime) [Deferred until Antigua fully established]

Both are now open & ready to receive in game requests to join these societies, although our initial focus is Pirate on Antigua due to limited time and resources to do both.

It doesn't matter which server you play on as TOG is a 24-7 guild, you are likely to find someone from TOG on one or the other server at any time of the day.

While you are below the maximum level cap of 50, you will be primarily grouping with TOG Society Members, so the lack of any substantial public players on the Open sea when you are playing will have little impact on your game play.

As all the game servers for the world is located in Seattle, Washington, USA there is no connectivity benefit in choosing the European server over the US Servers if you live outside the US.

I encourage you to sign up to both so you can play simultaneously the a National faction and the very different Pirate Faction style.

We currently have Twelve (12) active TOG players in our Pirate Society on Antigua.

We are busy levelling up our pirates, so the French society on Roberts is just waiting until we have time. Its still only early stages as we only have five characters at level 21+.

If you are factioned lock to a non-Pirate on Antigua, be aware that on Saturday 18 December 2010 at about 6.50 pm AEDT, it is highly likely the Spanish will be declared victor for the second time as they currently have 299 of the 300 points needed.

A three day windows opens to allow you to switch factions on Antigua. So if you want to come join us as TOG Pirates on Antigua, then get ready to login and switch over this coming weekend.

A new round is starting so its a great time to join the fun and work towards a Pirate Victory on Antigua.

This post is to alert those people who are concerned that the learning curve to play Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS) is too high that I have the answer.

I have now written a new Buccaneer's step by step guide to Marsh Harbour (which is the starting pirate port), Click on the link below and have a look for yourself.

I tell you what controls to use to check your mission and inventory and characters and where you should go next to complete all the starting missions in Marsh Harbour without ever sailing to another port until you are ready.

I take you from the starting tutorial on sword fighting and ship combat to a level 6 Bucaneer with most of the starter skills and selection of basic consumables and a starter ship and a few thousand doubloons (ingame currency) to the point where the rest of the game is just expansion on what you have learned in the hour it takes to run through all the steps I outline.

You also get the scavange skill which gives you a 10% chance to get a Ship Deed from a derelict ship. Ships once activated can only be scuttled or sunk. To trade ships you need to have a Ship deed which you turn into the harbour master for an actual ship for your character to sail. So if you cant find ship deeds, you can always pay for a ship deed from an auction house to access ships you want without the need to organise for a ship yard and construction team to help you.

Bar Shot - 222 (Long range anti-mast cannon ammunition)
Chain Shot - 9 (Medium range anti-mast cannon ammunition)
Heavy Round Shot - 646 (Main damage dealing cannon ammunition)
Langridge - 312 (Junk metal shot as schrapnel to damage crews, crude but effective)
Star Shot 15 (This is primarily mast damage, but also deals a bit of damage to hull and crew)

9 Hull Patch, Rough (Heals the outer hull of your ship)
1 Keg of Rum, Rough (Replaces crew killed in action)
9 Mast Brace, Rough (Repairs mast damaged by Bar or Chain shot, so you can still move)
1 Spare Guns, Rough (Replace guns lost to enemy fire)

French have just won the current round on Antigua.

If you have been waiting to join TOG as a Pirate on Antigua but couldn't because you are currently locked to an alternate faction on Antigua, the option to change is now open for three days.
