Planetside Next
The Escapist : News : Sony Online Strongly "Hints" Planetside Sequel Coming This Spring
This could shake up things in 2011. Everyone seems pretty comfortable. Rift,GW2,SWTOR all circling for their share of the pie and this pvp monster sits in total hiding possibly to be unleashed. |

Cool Solar, nice find. I knew next to nothing about the original, but just looked it up and it looks pretty cool. I'm in need of a good PvP game so I'll keep an eye on this one as well.
Man, 2011 is going to be a busy year...

I found GAs gameplay really flat. Like a shooter from the early 90s.
I hope PS is much better. Although it seems every year Sony "hints" at a planetside sequel, but never delivers. This will peg the third or fourth year they've done this.

Hi Guys,
Another MMOFPS in the SOE pipeline is "The Agency". The article stated that "Planetside Next" will land on March 2011, well that's around the time when SW:TOR goes Gold as well. (as stated in the last E3 back in June of this year) Another item to consider SOE usually has a closed beta period of 6 months preceding its retail launches. (and 3 months for its lesser MMO titles) It seems SOE is calling all of its working MMO titles in development with a Next following its name. Since the 3rd iteration of the Everquest franchise is also called "Everquest Next", which is in development.

Loved Planetside back in the day, Galaxy hot drops was one of the most exciting things I have ever done in a game will wait for more news but definitely keeping an eye on this one.
I have my doubts it will come out in March maybe that is the beta but if I am wrong they have certainly kept it well under wraps.
