Default Earthrise who plays it...?

Ok so giving it a round two consideration. I set up an account and tetter on pressing the buy Earthrise game.

$50 is a heavy chunk considering the reviews...
Those dedicated to it say it is rough... though Masthead really listens and they are working on it.

Are there servers? anyone here in a group? Is there a TOG presence there? If I do enter, any starter tips?

Thanks!

I played in beta, the first area was a mad house but if you move out further it was ok. Probably not a problem now anyway. It was an interesting game but I didn't think I wanted to continue with it.

Well, figured what the hell. I am in under name: Sytes.

Training activity, atm. I have that giddy feeling currently.. a bit subdued as I anticipate the review issues.
I am game to stick to it for the time. Thus far, smooth. A bit unique with the movement / combat... though only been in the game for 45 minutes...

If any Toggers are floating around, give a holler here, shoot a PM - or whatever best floats your boat.

Figure I'll make this a journal. Actually thus far - it has been interesting. Reasonable and enjoyable. I have not dug into anything other then the PvE... Nor any crafting.
Looks good and technical which usually advances quality crafting with a market though I am speaking a bit pre-maturely...
PvE has been fun. I see it will take a bit though, thus far - no complaints over any other starter MMO. Masthead seems to be accepting the criticism in the reviews and improving, reviewing some of their patch info.

Good on them - until another step in this venture.

Any guides out there for this game? It is pretty intricate and with such, I find a background understanding where time is best NOT spent and skills built fit well...

Any links or guides?

Thanks.

Nothing useful on the official forum? I remember seeing they opened up a special beginners sub section. Had hoped some guides would have been made in the mean time.

Ya, i was hoping Prima would have something out... not yet, that I have found.

Some people in game provided a couple good links to aid...
For a map with intel on locations, etc.: Earthrise Map
Some basic intel on quests, etc:
Home

These have helped. The more I play, the more I learn. Thus far, it is darn fun.
I have not hit any notable bugs other then dieing while climbing a hill and jumping up and down trying to get to a spot and falling down into the oblivion of programming... haha!
Thus far, good stuff.
Next step will be to get into a guild... and tinker with crafting (which I am in small part learning).

Will keep following your progress in the game, I wanted to try it out but the €50 'scared' me off

Look in the Earthrise forums, there are some guides there. You probably want to boost your armor tier first with battle points, up to tier 2 you can get new armor for free.

Played a bit at launch and the game was in a horrible state then. Might come back in a few months.

GAME PLAY UPDATE FROM A NOOB:
It's interesting... I have logged in a couple times only to log out in 10-15 minutes...

In a sense I am losing interest... Tell ya what happened and please do not take this as not accepting the events - rather my tour of play style...

The grind... I had been using the armor given with the purchase.
*note: I had to place a ticket to get the armor as it did not get loaded with my game - the ticket was promptly responded to and the next day I had my "special game purchase armor" in my in game mail. It worked, "good" though really - to gain ability, you need to advance armor ability to grind at a level worth the time.

However - I purchased some armor "T4" and WOW did it boost up the points to battle my grinding npc's and worked great! However, the aggro in grind areas can get one into trouble pretty quickly.

With this purchase, INSURANCE becomes essential! And boy it can suck your credits quickly! The grind is not essential to level up... though it is necessary to build scraps to gain credits and points needed to obtain better weapon / armor ability, etc.

Then - I had my first encounter with PvP... to give some understanding, there are two factions, Continoma and Nori. I would consider Nori the rebels and Continoma, the empire type... (to use a star wars type compairson). HOWEVER - it is a FFA... Though seems the leading clans/guilds oppose in faction pvp and are vigil in their hunt of those that attack their own faction.

I came across a group popular for in faction pvp. I didn't even arm my weapon as I figured it was a fellow faction player - and quickly I was wiped.

Insurance at my level is expensive and this event caused a lot of pause as to my funds to insure and getting out there to build my funds to counter insurance costs.

Like I stated though - this is accepted and I fully understand. Though it does not help in leveling... I was advised to join a clan / guild quick as it provides great intel and to some degree, protection. I have yet to choose a clan and was hoping to not until I built myself up and learned more of the game.

Anyhow - I find myself less and less desirable to log in as my funds to compensate my insurance loss simply to chance making funds to cover insurance. Something I need to get over and just get out there - roll the dice and hope to come out in the lead, fund wise.
