Default Like to put in long MMOG hours? Not in China you don't!

Hard to believe this could happen... but I guess they can do it there!

I wonder what they would have defined my longest (so far) time at the pc (21 hours) hehe

Mind you china probably have the right idea, they obvious dont want their country to be as backward as mine

The GAPP has defined the playing of online games for less than three consecutive hours as "healthy," playing three to five consecutive hours as "tiring," and playing for more than five consecutive hours as "unhealthy."
What a load of hogwash. What happen if you're logged onto the game but have a 10 minute break every hour or so? There is no way I'd sit and play for 5 hours without moving my butt for munchies or more importantly BEER. That would then lead onto the inevitable rest break

Part of me thinks it's a good idea. But a 5 hour cooldown is pretty extreme. On the bright side it might have a pretty big impact on currency farmers inside China.

Currency farmers won't be affected, as they play on the US (and presumably Korean and Euro) versions of games. Any rules like this that are built in to the game will only be done on the Chinese version.

Default getting up to get beer?

what are you talking about? getting up to get beer. No sir. Ive placed a keg in a freezer and laid a door over it to sit my computer on. i aint gotta go nowhere

oh and i have stayed at my puter for three solid days awake and online when i started playing EverQUest. i still have some of the sheets of paper with names of people planning to get into MY derv camp over the weekend.

I also pushed that number to four days online and awake when StoneBrunt Mtns was realeased. heheh on a side note i convinced all the players to give there cp and sp to the kid kittens instead of dropping it because i saw a necro show up and kill the town every nite. his mistake taking a three day break and then coming back to resume. its pleasurable seeing a necro scream and covered under all that fur.

LoL Asystole.

This timing mechanism can prevent young people from becoming addicted to online games,"

Now this statement is bunk. Three hours of play does not mean you won't become addicted. When I drank, it didn't take me 3 hours to consume a 6 pack or pint of Jack Daniels. The individual that made that statement obviously knows nothing about addictions and addictive personalities.

Before I get flamed for this statement, let me say this. I can be defined as "expert" on an addictive personality. Last friday November 11, 2005, I turned 14 years old. That is 14 years old in the AA world. Fourteen years of sobriety. So 3 hours of play will not stop anyone from becoming addicted to playing online games. There are just to many ways to get around the restrictions. Two clients, or multiple characters, change system clock, etc.
