From the few descriptions I've read, this game sounds pretty appealing to me.
Are there any Toggers currently playing it who could give more insight? Perhaps a comparison to Wow would be nice...

I've been waiting for a beta spot for well over a year. They seem to be expanding the beta quite quickly now, presumably it's just a matter of time before a few of us get in.

I think I read someone in the PotBS beta thread post that they'd played the DnL beta, maybe have a read through that and send them a PM.

I've been watching this game for about 15 months and the release date use to be October 2004. 8O

Seriously, the website is very rarely updated and there is scant information on the game itself. There are tons of sceenies and some good trailers though but what intrigues me is the political system. Might be the first of it's kind for an MMO.

I even had a sig read for release but it's been so long I forgot where I put it.

If anyone has any updates, please let me know!!

I'm in the D&L Beta, or rather have been. Had to wait ages then one day 'pop' there was the invite.. anyway. I can't really play the game cos my graphics card isnt compatible (its a rubbish GF4MMX) so i lag like hell.

But what i can tell you is what i saw looked stunning and the gliding was fantastic (i didnt get to do shieldboarding

).

As far as timeframe to release...? well I've recently been getting invites to server stress tests - so draw what conclusions you will from that about the games progress (must be getting close).

I haven't followed this game in the last 2 years, but I saw this on MMORPG.com today. Just a brief update on D&L.

Open stress test sessions will soon start in order to complete the work done by Dark and Light development team and our beta testers. In order to allow the greatest number to be part of these important tests, or just to see how things are going on, we recommend that you check and, if necessary, update your profile, e-mail address in particular.

Its not an open beta though, its a free game basically? They imply that the closed beta of DnL will continue while SoG is running. It looks to me like they're using this to get another 6 months to finish the game. Given how delayed it is so far......

They are now allowing people to reserve nicks. I applied to the beta I think about the first time they allowed. It was a really long time ago. I figured it had gone the way of dragon worlds. I will definitely be beta'ing this thing when and if I can ever get in.
