I thought the Marvel MMO was canned and that Champions took it's place?

Cryptic and Marvel stopped the cooperation yes and Cryptic did their own thing with Champions. Does not stop Marvel from trying a different route

That is one of two Marvel "MMOs" that are being made, the other one is already released - Marvel Super Hero Squad

I hope it turns out better then DCUO, im finding fantasy mmos a little dull these days and the super hero ones are fun if only for a while.

I'm a big fan of the superhero genre and I thoroughly enjoyed City of Heroes. I still find myself coming back to that game from time to time.

However, DCUO turned out to be a big flop for me. I just wasn't into the action oriented game play, I didn't care for "combo" systems where I had to press buttons in just a certain fashion. I'm just not much of a twitch game player.

I hope the Marvel game is better, if they are planning one sans Cryptic (Champions was okay, but I think that the hasty development ended up making the game a pretty flimsy product).

So far, I'm content with going back to WoW. I look forward to SW:TOR and Warhammer 40k, but that's all that looks very promising to me right now.

My biggest complaint with Champions would be the underlying tech. I liked that we were all in together on the one server, you could even have different people with the same "character name" (was like an email witht he domain your account nickname.) but the constant zoning really annoyed me. Oh and balance, was a real issue. I had trouble playing all my alt ideas because I kept drifting back to the overpowered abilities over the fun I had with quirky charchter concepts that just didn't play out well vs game mechanics.

I still play Champions Online, and I like it. Just bought two more character slots to try out new concepts.

It certainly is a fun game just it suffered with lack of content and it was to quick to level. I still have it on my pc with my original life time sub and will pop on from time to time for a bit its always nice to have.
