I beta tested this a few months ago, its by the creators of Neocron I think...Ive been playing it today and had a lot of fun. Thought it would be worth a look despite my usual aversion to FTP MMOs.

As with all MMOs it requires some TLC but I think it has promise as a light weight alternative to EVE (maybe).

Just wondered if any other Toggers were looking at this?

I have been looking at it also, it has my attention. By what I have played so far, the game does seem to play well.

But I am also stuck on playing Perpetuum. ( Eve with robots and Mechs)

Well i thought id try this one as I liked EVE and I have had an account for a number of years, but felt it was too much work to actually get into it....which usually I dont mind but with EVE its a LOT Of work from what i could tell.

Playing the beta on this one too. I like the gameplay and pvp. It plays exactly like "Free Lancer" a favorite game from about 8 years or so ago.

I am not getting too invested though until release. I'm playing some other games now (Brink) and I'm sure they will wipe all the beta cha. Would like to get a clan going after official launch though.

also I was noticing that the 3D character customizations and the panning shots of station interiors. Wondering if they are planning a 3d aspect later where you can move about in stations and capital ships.

I am playing it on and off on Euro side, since it was released there some time ago. The combat is quite nice I think.

They are planning to allow you to walk out of your ship with your character, presumably into the space stations at least.

Yeah im in and out on Euro at the moment too....My enthusiasm died a little for a moment when i stumbled into a pvp area and got slapped, before I knew what was going on.

As much as PvP is fun, I prefer to separate my PvP and PvE and choose when I do both.

Yeah, that's annoying - I read of some Aussies who got in, but apparently they tightened it up a little. I'll be keen to have a poke at it when I can.

Just need to get someone with a US IP to get your account. Once account is made you can log in and play from Oz fine.

I get a 180-200 ping from Japan and its full playable.

gameplay feels like a combination of freelancer/X series and the graphics are very nice.

We're still low lvl, but it doesn't feel too grindy at the moment and there feels like some sort of plot is brewing in the initial sub-lvl 10 questlines.

Good use of cutscenes gave me a feeling that i was being part of a story, rather than some guy in a ship asked to kill 10 spacewolves or 5 spacebears.
