Default [EVE] OctoberSnow intel & Tips for when at war

Hi, a new friend to your corp here, my old corp Knights of the White Wolf [KOWW] is still a little bit active around Metropolis and i often see TOG members around. I've today found that we share a common "friend" in Ginger Magician, whilst in The Confederation [CFD] alliance we locked swords with him on a number of occaisions. Hence my post here.

I don't know how much you guys know in Eve or not so i'm just going to ramble off things that i think of, apologies if I am teaching "granny to suck eggs".

OctoberSnow Corp [SNOWY] Intel
Known members
Ginger Magician,
Crom'ar Lev,
Mr Resser
1 left to find

ALTS
Storerroftheshadow
Storerroftheshadows
Bozal
Ginger's Mistress
Loot Picker
Tito Africa
& possibly Argor

edited to show new alts

Corm'ar Lev's clone station used to be in Vullat

Tips - in no particular order
+ Intel - nothing beats it, use alts, you can be sure that your enemy is doing it, so what if you get accused of using an alt, biomass it when finished. Scout gates and outside stations ahead of your corpmates.

+ Switch your Auto target back (ESC, general) to zero so that you dont accidentally target anyone you dont mean to.

+ Switch off your gang/corp members in overview so that you do not acidentally target them.

+ Use a non war target alt to target hostiles along with your fleet to get them to "accidentally" attack the alt and bring concord/sentries into the fight. (I didn't say all the tips were fair or nice )

+ If you have a voice comms channel, use it, even if you dont have a mic.

+ Bookmark your main solar systems, have at least 2 safespots in each, - where possible more than 3au away from any planet.
BMs to include :
gate to gate,
gate to station,
station to gate,
station to station,
safe to gate,
safe to station,
100k & 300k above each gate/station (100k change to your optimum BS sniping range, 300k to scout)
2000k directly ahead when you undock, need a fast interceptor or similar to make this spot (undock and warp straight (no need to align) to this BM - hard for anyone outside base to target ships doing this.
Obviously this will create a load of BMs in your Peaople & Places, so create some folders with useful names to sort them

+ Fight in disposable ships, do not fit Tech 2/high spec named mods, these just help the agressor finance the war.

+ Get everyone in corp involved, even if they are normally a miner. everyone can fly a Tech 1 ship that can be put to use, the Vigil makes a very useful scrambler a few "newer" mebers fitted with 2x7500k scramblers and a MWD orbitting Crom'ar Lev's Warp Core Stabb'd Geddon/Mega and he soon wont be able to run away.

+ Make sure your clone is up to date, and in the correct station

+ Don't worry about losing your ship - hopefully your corp is nice enough to replace it (especially during war) if not contact me and i may be able to help with frigates. If you see that your ship is going to explode, be prepared to warp away, highlight a planet and warp as soon as you lose ship, whilst en route (and have stopped cursing) get ready to warp to another planet making a SS between the two.

+ if you need to haul things from one base to another get an alt to do it, NPC alts cannot be declared against

i'll add any more that i think of to this, please feel free to comment/cross post into your EVE area of forums

Hey thanks Zaphod, that's real nice of you

We're slowly learning the ins and outs of being at war, and our more experienced members are helping out in that regard. We still make some dumb mistakes but overall we're making progress.

Yep, thanks a lot for that post.

Some other alts and/or friends of his:

Ginger's Mistress
Loot Picker
Tito Africa

I never would have thought of that tip about making a BM 2000km directly ahead of station...that is a great idea, I have always been a bit hesitant to undock when the enemies are about, but this sounds great.

Excellent.

Once I play the game a bit more I may join up with you guys by myself or if I decide to dump SWG I may form a Frag Haus Branch to fight with you guys.

Wish I had some FragHausians to join up with in game although alot of our members are aussies.

here's my 2 bits as well....as a larger corp you guys might want to try "ghost fleets" or "gank squads"...these really annoy the crap out of an enemy and frustrate them to no end as the lost tonnage/vs killed tonnage adds up.....

Now what i mean by ghost fleets or gank squads is simply this....a sizeable # of pilots in "disposable" T1 frigates all fitted with MWD's and then vary the setups some with scrams some with webbers and some with tracking disruptors (for those pesky gunship BS's).....you will have loads of fun Teamspeak is a must for these kinds of ops and as few as 5 T1 frigs with at least 1 targeting disruptor and a couple scrams can bring down a BS in very short order....and if you loose a couple frigs.....so what they're "disposable"

now with the ammount of players TOG has you could mount HUGE squads......20 or so per squad and watch the emeny get frustrated as they get a kill for 100-300 k while you pull off BS or interceptor kills for 25-150 mill

Also these squads can move FAST so if they're operating close to one another 5-10 jumps it is quick and easy with a fleet of MWD'd frigs to move into a position to support your other squads and bait your enemy into positions to "jump them"

We were doing some of that for the first couple of weeks, albeit with battleship support, but X13 is cautious' keeping their battleships together, fighting at jump gates where they can retreat quickly and running if too many of us come into the system. It gets tedious to sit around waiting for them to make a mistake.

Neverheless, thank you very much for the advice. I'd personally like to do more of that.
