Anyone watching this? It's yet another MMORPG in development. In a nutshell, the game is fantasy themed, characters will have UO style skills rather than EQ style levels, the world will be huge, PvP (primarily guild v guild and realm v realm) is a cornerstone of the design, and (apparently) player skill will matter just as much as character stats in combat. The devs are pretty quiet, but there have been hints that beta isn't too far away, and clans registered on their boards have apparently recieved emailed about registering for the early stages of the beta. Are any other TOGgers registered on their boards? If you're interested then send me a PM (my username there is speedy) or buddylist me on the Darkfall boards. Once I've got 9 others there we'll be able to register TOG. |

I first became aware of Darkfall 3 years ago. Since that time, there have been virtually no updates, little communication from the "devs" and no progress towards completion of the game that I could tell. Unfortunately (as I love full PvP games), this one seems to be vaporware IMO.

It looks awsome, the visuals are pretty damned impressive - but 3 years and no beta would lead me to believe i shouldnt hold my breath... I've bookmarked it and will keep an eye on it, definately a game that would have me interested, when/if it comes about ^^

A few months ago it definitely looked like vapourware ... but in the last month or so a recent ingame video has surfaced, and the devs have opened guild beta registrations, so it looks like they might not be too far away from beta.
Anyone interested in helping me register TOG in Darkfall should send me a pm on the Darkfall forums, where my nick is speedy Once I've got 9 others I'll register TOG there. |

There has been a little bit more press about this lately ...
mmorpg.com had a dev interview and some screenshots yesterday (link) which give a good overview of the game. There were some articles over on ign in late December / early November link Applications for the clan beta closed in late October. Presumably they weren't intending to wait any more than 6 months between closing the clan beta apps and starting testing, so beta might not be more than another few months away. |

I'm in another guild that I generally play MMORPG's in, and they sent us a notice about two months ago that they were going to go beta pretty shortly. I believe I also got a confirmation email from them. Since then, it's been complete silence. They aren't wooping it up like Dark & Light, but that may be a good thing.
The world needs a good PvP oriented MMORPG. Shadowbane was okay but has too many issues to keep playing it. I was hopeful for Dark and Light and still am, but it's very raw. |
