Default DDO question

I am new to this guild and have not yet made a ton of posts or anything. I joined basically because of your description on DDO forums "a mature guild..." I was just curious as to a rough number of TOGs that were going to play DDO. I understand even a rough estimate may be difficult to assess but even a rough rough estimate.. or perhaps ever more rough than that. hehe you get the point I am just curious. Also wondering your thoughts on how they are planning to implement the server populations.. As I understand it 1000 active per server with a total subscriber count of ~2-3k. If we have a large guild in DDO it seems that at a certain point new members will not be able to join the same server.

Hey Plepim!

Good questions. Let me see how I do ay answering them.

Just as a low end rough guess, I am going to say there are 10 to 15 people that are currently TOG members excited about the game and are going to be playing. That said, we will most certainly pick up more new members (and other existing members) looking to play DDO with us as release draws closer as well as after release. I have not seen one game (in the two years I have been with TOG) that has not had this happen. I do not expect anything but a good sized TOG guild at release with more coming on board shortly there after.

As far as 1000 people per server, yes that may/will be an issue that has not yet been faced at TOG as it is a new "feature". I really think it may be a blessing in disguise though. I believe that our WoW division operates on more than one server with outstanding success. So, this player limit per server may well allow us to do the same. Hence opening other people up to TOG on other servers that may not have known of us otherwise. It is still a kind of "wait and see" thing though at this point.

All in all, I think everyone is going to be happy with our numbers at release and we may just be one of the biggest from the start. From what I have seen on the DDO forums, TOG seems to be the only already organized guild. Meaning that all the posts I have seen are from what will be new guilds that have no "name" carry over from other games. I think that will give us an advantage.

Once there is a more permanent DDO site and forum set up, I am sure there will be a lot more recruiting going on.
This would again be closer to release when the general gaming community at large will take up more interest and start visiting their forums.
