Default On leaving TOG L2: some practical notes

Here's what happens when a TOG member leaves a division.

First (hopefully) the member tells the Division Captain or Division Vice-Captain that they're going. They in turn let one of the admins know, and we take them out of the TOG_Members forum group and put them into a group called (in this case) TOG_Members_X_L2.

This group is supposed to allow access to all other forums that a TOG member would normally read, except the private division forum for the game in which they've departed to another clan. Unfortunately, as new forums are added to TOG the permissions sometimes are not updated... this is a pretty big job and our poor admin brains sometimes get it a bit backwards

Anyway, the X_L2 has been updated as of about 10 minutes ago so everyone's access permissions should now work as expected. If not, please let me know. (I'm moving this to the public MMO thread where hopefully folks will find it, and global announcing it for a short time).

Why do we remove forum access at all? Well, for many games security is an issue. L2 is a PvP game and like it or lump it, people playing for other clans shouldn't really have access to TOG's private forum for that game. They are absolutely welcome to take part in all TOG's other games, however -- in fact we encourage it!

You'll likely want to keep in touch with your former guildmates and this can be done by starting a thread in the public MMO forums -- and telling them to get their butts over there to read it

Any problems with forum groups and access issues, the buck stops here so PM me and I'll try my best to take care of it

Cheers,
Basie
