Default Dungeons and Dragons Online

Hey guys,

I just wanted to start some stuff here about DDO. Who will be playing it? What is the unofficial allegince/guild name? As per "TOG - The Older Gamers : All classes/alignments will be welcomed. All members must be 25 or older. We may end up using a more D&D type of guild name within the TOG acronym framework." I think using some sort of DnD name would be great. Any Ideas? Also if you frequent the DDO boards how do I know you are from TOG? I recently put up a TOG avatar as well as a sig which is the above quote form the DDO Guilds thread "TOG - The Older Gamers : All classes/alignments will be welcomed. All members must be 25 or older. We may end up using a more D&D type of guild name within the TOG acronym framework.". I know it isnt going to be released for a few more months but I would like to get started now with some specifics and also get to know those of you (and perhaps more) that are planning on playing DDO. Its the only game I plan on playing and I just cancelled my AC2 account. Also what will the numbers be like for us? Someone here told me they estimated only 10-20 players from TOG are actually going to play DDO. I am a guy that likes both small and large communities, but I think for DDO I will prefer a larger one if at all possible... perhaps I prematurely made my avatar and sig... anyways if at all possible give me a heads up on some of these things so I know whats going on. I know I dont frequent these forums (mostly because not much activity in the DDO department) but I would like to start something going on here about DDO. Thanks. /Plepim

Being a new member... just joined on guild advertisement in DDO forums... and coming here about once every other day I see me being the only one with interest in DDO here in the past month. Thats initially why I made that post. The sticky is quite dead and so is DDO here as of now and for the past month or so. I was just trying to spark some renewed interest and to get things moving.

I am starting to get the feeling DDO isnt on the up and up of this TOG community. Sad I am. Would I be better off looking for a different Guild? No offense but it is starting to seem as if I am the only one with any amount of interest... Or maybe I just got too much time on my hands...

Default DDO

I think its still a bit far off for a lot of us. I'm rather interested, but its still pretty far over the horizon. Many of us keep busy in WoW, CoH, L2, Eve, or GW, since they're already out. Might have to wait a bit closer to release, or at least beta, and see how it works out.

If you look through the forum you'll see that several people have posted re DDO. Although you beat me to the punch more recently I got the word out about the first alpha journal I know Twiz has posted before and some others as well.

I think you may not be on the right wavelength about The Older Gamers though. It's not a guild. Its a gaming community that spans a whole bunch of games. There are TOG sponsored guilds in some, but not all, games. In some games such as EQ2 there is a TOG sponsored guild but not all members of TOG playing EQ2 belong to the guild; some belong to guilds that have no releationship to TOG other that the presence of several members in the guild.

My guess is that there will be enough interest in DDO for a sponsored guild to form but if not then you any other TOGers in DDO can join a non TOG guild and still enjoy this community.

I have just read up on DDO and being a old D&D tabletop player I must say I am excited for it to arrive. I wont get serious till after it releases tho since most games have tons of bugs when they launch online.

Yep, as mentioned earlier, this will be one I will definitely be picking up and playing on release (or a beta invite, but I never seem to make that cut). I just won't get excited until I know an actual release date and after the debacle that is EQ2 (which I still play pretty regularly), I doubt I'll allow myself to get too excited anyway until I actually play it and see how it goes...

Aside from DDO, the only other game I am following is Vanguard...

And again, as someone mentioned above, even if there aren't enough to make a TOG guild in game, at least you know if you find another TOG member in a game, it is very likely they will look at gaming as you do and be enjoyable to hang with, regardless of guild affiliation...

Ive been watching it for awhile, and I continue to drop by their forums daily hoping for more tidbits...I have even taught myself most of the 3.5 rules ( DOWN WITH WOTC UP WITH 2nd Ed.!)

Use the tag Bociwen on their forums since I cant seem to recover my password for Boci :P

I plan on playing it when it goes live (as of now) and so do some good friends I have in SWG with plans on creating a guild there together.
