Default DnL guild

There seems to be enough interest in this game for us to register a guild and get eh ball rolling, me thinks that SoG is starting up soon (Dec 8 for registering) so we need to think up a name and have a leader ect.

Anyone have any ideas post them here.

Not sure but i would imagine that Dark and Light would be seperate guilds so a guild leader and staff for each would be required.

I haven't played an MMORPG with ToG. So I don't know what the threshold criteria for breaking out a portal on the boards is. I personally don't feel good about asking anyone to go to any significant effort to create a portal for this game yet. If it's a minor effort, then that's fine. I can't find any specific information on the game. It's all high level stuff. The game may be in a very raw state, which I can live with. But the big question is will it be worth playing when it is done? I want to see some real details about how the endgame is going to operate.

What faction are you guys planning on playing? I personally have no preference, but I've got a few friends that I played with in Shadowbane that are leaning towards Dark--just because they think it will be the underdog faction. I am a little concerned about diluting what is already a small guild by rolling out guilds under both factions. It depends on how they have the game setup of course. But if it's something like Shadowbane, and we can't muster enough players, we're going to get beat down constantly. Most of these guilds have no criteria for admission--i.e. they just randomly recruit. Since we do have some criteria, we can't get players as easily, and they are going to be able to zerg us if the game dynamics allow it.

Maybe the faction will protect us but then again maybe it won't. It just depends on how strongly guild focussed the game is. WoW didn't encourage guild zerging during the XP phase because the quest based nature tended to favor small experience groups. If the game isn't quest based and allows open PvP, that's the scenario where a small guild is going to get painful. I'd like to see some further discussion on splitting the guild before we do that. Maybe we could all go with one faction for the beta (either one as agreed to by the players) and roll out both sides at release if we decide it is warranted?

Even with limited play time (split between WoW and DnL) I'll be active a couple nights a week so please count me in.

I do have to agree with Rigor that we go with one faction to start off with (especially since Settlers will only run for 6months) and spread out later.

Just my 2cp.

That said, it looks like there are not that many euro-zone players lining up in this thread, so Malarkey and I will probably have to form our own guild, lol

I support the idea of having a single TOG guild for SoG. It is probably too early to expect a seperate forum for DnL, perhaps after April next year, once the full game has launched ? That is provided they don't push back the release date AGAIN...

It would be handy to know who the TOG guys are ingame, and it would be really handy if we could have a channel on venti for voice comms. It will make sharing new knowledge that much easier, and I expect a steep learning curve in the beginning. Info on nuts-and-bolts play mechanics has been almost non-existant so far.

I expect the game to be a bit rough and buggy, remember, SoG is essentially an open-beta phase.

Integration of guilds, of those who have registered, and as such have a thread in the guilds forum (of each community).

We are currently working on the organization of the world of DnL and, as promised, we plan to integrate the guilds for the launch in November.

You will be able to specify place names (localities, cities) of which you come up with and that form an integral part of your history. We will add them, provided the name and its history agree with the Universe.

You may request for NPCs to be placed in order to represent your guild:
- These NPCs are to be given a particular name, involved within your history.
- These NPCs are tasked in telling an anecdote or a piece of history relating to your guild.

We also plan to allow you to set up quests/trials accessible only to the members from your guild: for example, each member for his enrollment, must recover an object or make a pilgrimage to meet a particular person.

If your history is related to particular objects, we can also see whether a particular model that corresponds to this object is available: in this case, we can create a single object including the name and description of the aforementioned object.

More on the point surrounding the creation of the cities and locales: it will take place only after release, where you will then have time to go "and become familiar with the land" and that you will be able to then indicate the desired site(s) to us. To indicate them as of now allows us to evaluate the number of places to create accordingly. Lastly, all this is not at all automatic, nor an obligation. If we consider that your requests do not tally, they will be refused or otherwise presented to be modified.

I propose a "standard" questionnaire for you to complete and return to us (using the template below) in order to give an initial idea of your guild. It is to in no case to be too exhaustive and if you want to you can include otherwise summarized descriptions, or elements which seems significant to you, then do not hesitate to do so.

UPDATE: The integration in-game will be done once the guild is in-game, at release of SoG, and have finaly located where they wish to "setup" their "base/HQ"(providing it is suitable)

Also please include the Name of your guild as the Subject-line.

Avoid conflicting with the DNL/SOG history or tales or involving deities to the point of them having them involved in a physical (direct) activity in the world in concern with your history submitted - However their influence on an individual as part of a "Dream" or "Hallucinations/Visions" for example can work. And ultimately, as it is a history, please ensure to include dates (according to the dark and light time line and events)

Pretty prevalently displayed on the web page is a survey on what people plan to play. While I am not sure how accurate, Dark is 53% and Light 47%. I am also a "play the underdog" so it may be that Light is it. I would think we would do better to choose on what char types people would primarily like to play with a quick poll.

But, in the end, this appears to be a game I would like to play. First, because I believe that some form of territory control is what makes a game good day to day. Second, because there are other things to do on days when your guild is lightly represented.

So should we have a poll to see if we should be light or dark, makes no never mind to me either, but we should register a name and maybe develope the info that they request...wish i was smart enough to create a lore/history but alas i would have now idea how to even start.

Sounds kool though having a place created for us and npc and such. Nice that they allow that to be created after we are ingame, hard to figure that stuff out before we even see the place.

We need ideas for a name and light or dark. Then register and work on the other stuff.
