Default Lord of the Rings online, anyone

I am probably going to play a new game, expected to be released on 2006, called "Lord of the Rings online". I have been waiting for 3 years.

I was wondering if anybody was interested on playing this.

You can check:

http://lotro.turbine.com/

and

and my current kinship:

Current release date is 2006. But if you read the forums, there are some who suggest they will be pleasantly surprised if it still releases in '06. (meaning some expect to slip into 2007)

From the limited info available, and Turbine not having started beta yet, I agree. The key, I think, is how much Turbine's resources will be available after DDO releases in February?

At the very least, there should be a bunch of devs and artists who can switch over to LOTRO. And if DDO is a commercial success, Turbine should have the funds to accelerate (or at least maintain) LOTRO's rate of production.

If DDO flops.........

This is the first time I've heard of the game. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan. So, yes, I think I'll be trying it out.

So tired of 'fantasy' mmo's.

Let's get something different going. And I don't wanna wait till 2012 when Lord Bristish's 7th re-do on his new MMO comes out...

You can always hope that Star Trek Online makes it better than SWG did:

But I am with ya', I am tired of fantasy MMOs

I am sure all the Legolazes, Glimmii's, Gorbagg's, Galladdriell's and Aeragoern's currently playing WOW will be playing LOTR online when it is released.

As will I

Unlikely that it will topple WoW in my affection though

I'm so excited to play a LotR-themed MMORPG! So far, my only experience for this fix has been text-based MUSHs, so I can't wait for this to go out.

I will probably give the game a try, just wish it was being done by someone other than Turbine.
