Default DDO Beta NDA lifted!

They lifted the NDA today for the DDO Beta!

http://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19576

Now I can tell people about the beta....

Any mods wanna open a forum on the main page for it now? I'd love to actualy form up a TOG guild on the beta, and it would be a lot easier if we could let each other know who we were....

Turbine is pleased to announce that the confidentiality obligations in the Preview and Non-disclosure Agreement for the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™ Beta have been lifted earlier than anticipated. This means players in the Beta Program and those who took part in the Stress Test Events are free to talk about the game on public forums. After getting so much positive feedback from our Beta players, we felt it was time to let you share your opinions and praise for DDO with the rest of the MMOG community.

Preorders are now available online as well as in many retail stores. Click here to learn more about the preorder, get access to the Beta, and get a head start building your character once the game ships!

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™ is currently scheduled to ship on February 28.

Sincerely,
The Turbine Beta Program Team

Me too, let the questions fly.

Just so's you know, My highest level character is 4. I don't get to spend the powergamer time on games that I used too...

But so far I really think the game has a lot of potential. Some of the players that have higher level characters complain quite a bit about lack of content. They aparently have to repeat the same quest over and over. The worst part of that is they lower the xp for each time you complete the quest...

Mostly I'm just having fun burning things (mage).

I played this thing since Alpha and finally can say that, from experience with other MMO's, getting together a group of TOGers (not refering to pick up groups) consistently is going to be a pain in the arse for a casual gamer. The only way to get anywhere in this game is to be part of a group so form up some COD/BF2 type squads early on and stick together or your in for some painful PUG time. I too think it has alot of potential, just not realized potential. I got pretty far along and it became "work", I'd love to have been punching a time card.

You guys have a blast in there! I hope it pans out.

Will agree with Wolfman about the grouping. I would play in the evening, late on the East Coast and I think I was able to get into one group. They have a nice group matching system as PC Gamer pointed out, so hopefully it will be used once the game goes live. However, just like in Guild Wars, PUGS will be the normal group and if you want to be popular, pick a healer character.

Compared to the other MMO's I have played (SWG, CoH, and WoW), it doesn't have anything in it that I haven't done in the pass. Nothing to draw you into the game. I do like the small puzzles in the dungeons and having to use various weapons for damage (ie skeletons take next to no damage using swords).

I appreciated the opportunity to get into the beta, but will pass on it when it goes live. If you haven't done WoW yet and enjoy DnD, then you might give it a try.

I thought DDO was much better than WoW. If you go to the DDO forums, that appears to be the consensus with former WoW players, as well.

I think the quest instancing is great! I for one, hated wasted my precious game time travelling. I also liked the fact that you didn't have to kill 100 mob x's all the time to quest.

Healers are always popular.

I had no trouble getting groups, and I tried a wide range of characters except the Cleric.
