Developed and published by
NCSoft (same company behind Wildstar and Aion). The game has already entered the South Korean market with huge success. I anticipate the game will enter a beta phase during 2013 in the West (NA/EU/AU/NZ).
The game has stunning graphics (CryEngine 3), with fast paced combat. The scenery is based in a fantasy world with martial art experts.
What is B&S?
Blade & Soul tells the story of your quest for vengeance and redemption against a backdrop of Asian fantasy. Gameplay prominently features martial arts inspired combat combined with Qing Gong "light body" movement, as made famous by films like House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
How many classes?
There are six classes in Blade & Soul: the stealthy Assassin, the deadly Blademaster, the axe-wielding Destroyer, the versatile Force Master, the mighty Kung Fu Master, and the elusive Summoner.
Payment model?
Not finalised yet. I assume it will be a subscription based model, like AION when it first came out. In Korea it is paid per the hour. However this model wont be effective in the west. I presume the fee will be $59.99 to purchase (includes game time) and then $15 a month subscription fee.
Having said all that, NCsoft have openly discussed newer models, similar to that which Arena Net have for Guild Wars 2 (even though NCSoft own the rights to Guild Wars 2 anyways).
Trailer (Gstar 2009)
I for one will be signing up to join B&S when it arrives in the western market. Hopefully other TOG members will join me
