Default WOW trial?

G'day folks, not sure if this is in the right forum, I apologise if it isnt.
My question is.
I am somewhat interested in playing WOW, being a FPS head for many years, I have no idea what to expect with this game.
Is there some sort of demo/trial I can download to simple try before I buy?
I've googled it, but didnt really find anything relevant.
Any help, would be good
Cheers.

Try http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions...arcraft/trial/ , though you will likely need to find a US proxy for your browser as you can only download it from the US.

Failing that, head to any Dick Smith or Harvey Norman and they usually sell the demo for $2.

Enjoy yourself! It's probably the most immediately accessible game of it's type for first time MMORPGers.

In the European version I got for Xmas, there was a code to pass onto a friend for a free 10 day trail. You need to load up the game from the CD's, but Blizzard are quite happy for 2 people to use one set, advising that you don't need the discs again once the game is loaded.

Seems to boarder on the generous!

So, you just need to nab someone with similar. Once the 10 trial is up, you can just carry on with either the gamming vouchers or open an account.

give it a whirl - you wont be disappointed!

I might look into that, thanks.
Another question, about the game, as I've never played a p2p game before how does it work?
Say I get 10 days trial, Is only the time I've actually played counted, or does the time start ticking down once Ive created an account? I'm guessing the latter?
Is this the same with the full version, and using these gamecards to "recharge" my account.
Would kind of suck, if say I paid for a month and only got to play a couple of hours for whatever reason.
God, my wife is gonna hate me if I get addicted to another game!

It is 10 days from when your account is activated.

It is mostly the same game. Certain features are limited (mostly chat, trade, and auction house functions due to certain scams and businesses that have abused the free trials in the past) but the rest is entirely the same as the full retail edition.

Once the 10 day trial is over, you will need regular boxed copy to continue. You can then use the boxed copy to upgrade your trial account to a full account so you don't forfeit any progress you made during that time.

Gamecards are sold in 60 day units. These add that amount of time to how long til your account expires. Should you decide not to renew your account, Blizzard saves all your character data should you ever decide to reactivate your account in the future. You do not need to purchase a new boxed copy of the game to reactivate, just either a new gamecard or a credit card number to start again.
