Unhappy Anyone who plays world of warcraft?? please help

Hello everyone…. I’m just a newbie in this forum and about getting interested of playing WoW. The worse thing is that I’m not quite familiar with the addon’s and mod’s of this game. I have searched for this file “World of Warcraft Lootlink Ver 1.9.1” from this site http://dl.qj.net/MMORPG-PC-Gaming-Wo...raft/catid/152. The file description is quite cool but the thing is that I don’t know how to install and use the file and how would I be able to make sure that the file is safe to download? There is this anti virus thing, but I don’t have one…lol Any help would be appreciated pleeeeease! Thanks a lot!

Heya.

I'd get all of my mods from Curse Gaming http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php They're all Zipped files so you'd need WinZip. Use the search box for lootlink (good mod btw). Download it and unzip it into your World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns folder.

I usually use WoW Interface to find a wide array of add ons and mods. Most have detailed instructions on how to download and install/update (important if you don't want to have to reset everything after you have a layout you like).

I get my MODS from http://ui.worldofwar.net/ and haven't found a virus yet.

It's unlikely you will get a virus from a WoW Mod. WoW restricts the system access from the UI interface. I'm not saying it is impossible, but I've yet to hear of one. There were some bogus version updaters out there for a while. But those were standalone utilities executed on the PC that were supposed to parse the files after a WoW patch and change the mod numbers so the interface addons would work with the new version. But since they changed the version warning from hard to soft, that's not really necessary anymore.

In short, you are pretty safe running most mods--certainly any of the better known ones. Curse gaming is a good source. That's where I used to get mine when I was playing as well.

Yeah to second what Fidds said....don't stop...head straight over to the store, and get a copy of Norton. You probably have trojans and keyloggers on your system right now. That means you are TOTALLY exposed, and you system can even be used without your knowledge for illegal activity.

Get AV software ASAP please.

First things first.. Anti-Virus should be top priority! Get Safe before looking at anything that needs to be downloaded.

Steps:

Anti-Virus protection

THEN

Worry about your addons

personally i think ometh nmod is the best thing out there

you can get it from www.ometh.com

they even have a video tutorial to help get you started setting up. its basically the best things from nurfed ui, cept with perl playerframes, and a few other bells and whistles
