Thumbs up

Hello Porky,

I remember G4 cable Tv channel owned by Comcast had a show once over a year ago on MMO's. It was set via episodes with a storyline of "Dave" sending his agents to fight evil in these MMO worlds.

On another note another famous Hollywood director as in "James Cameron" is doing something similar. By creating a multiplayer game than showing it as a film. Here's the Link to a 2/13/06 Business Week Online article.

Quote:
Holed up at his home in Santa Barbara, Calif., Cameron is working on the screenplay for Project 880, which he describes as "completely crazy, balls-out sci-fi." If it gets produced, it could be the first major Hollywood project that audiences will experience first as a multiplayer game on the Net, and only later on the silver screen.

So expect to see more of games melding with TV & Film to make the 20th century passive watching television more so interactive.

If it's done like the shows that air presently on G4 TV cable channel akin to a horny teenager. Yes it will be very campy and not last beyond one season. Comcast dumbed down their purchase of "Tech TV" over a year ago that G4 TV is pathetic in my opinion.

Now if these proposed game show programs are treated with some dignity. Than before our very eyes expect to see a convergence of media. Where games with TV & Film will be further meshed together. Perhaps spawning a new type of media outlet that offers the best of both worlds. Such as spectator viewing with interactive access in a more so 3D environ.

Creative technological progress will eventually tell us this within the next 5 years.

Thanks for the link Porky.

I didn't know they made the jump elsewhere with ZiffDavis. Which was the original creator & owner of Tech TV cable channel.

I remember finding it mid 90's on satalite, but it was owned by Cnet and was called TechTV and had a the normal Cnet logo. Favorite show was with Leo Laport!

Then a few years later I found it on Digital cable and it was just "T" but no longer owned by Cnet. Leo and his team just got a new stage that was being shared by three other shows.... That's when I also noticed that they where doing alot more gaming shows and started showing Anime late at night.

Then I picked up Satalite again about a year ago and it's G4... Nothing but gaming shows, maybe a little tech here and there, nothing but teens or wanna be teens running the shows and utter crap... Best thing they ever had on there was the late night anime, and even then, they played it out of order so I lost interest.
