Phantasy Star MMORPG!

I'm old school Phantasy Star player from back in the Sega days, and was so upset when it hit online over seas and never really picked back up here in the US.

NOW the finally got on the band wagon and created and MMORPG!!! The little movie clip of some game play looks like it mostly a point and click melee type game. (go figure)

I spent a decent number of hours leveling up in Phantasy Star Online and for the odd bored hours I have an account on Blue Burst, so I am definitely hoping for something good here.

Do you know if there are going to be any gameplay similarities with these established classics? (The endless pursuit of better items, etc.). I couldn't find any more details than at the page you linked.

I'm a sucker for anything with Sonic Team on it so I'll definately be giving this ago. I loved the original PSO, just hope they have better cheat protections this time :S

Aye, they didn't really monitor their games in the past...

With the way that all the other MMO's are going these days, I'm sure that they've had to take another look at how they're going to have to do things if they're wanting the game to live past beta.

OK guys, what about the PSO Blue Burst game?
I have received an offer to play it for 2 wks free and am wondering if you guys have any opinion or info on it.

Played beta a bit and it was pretty much the same the original PSO was, updated graphics engine, more quests and customization, but overall exactly the same gameplay, controls etc. I only played a bit, so I can be wrong, maybe there are more changes once more involved in the game.

PD. I'm refering to PSO BB, of course.

Is Blue Burst the new game or is it another version I'm not knowing about?

I believe that PSO Universe is the new game to be released Fall of 06 and this is a cleaned up version of an existing game. Could be wrong but here's a link.
