Guild Wars Faction Grade
Okay, so this weekend was the big preview of Guild Wars Factions, what is everyones thoughts on it.
On a summary I would have to give it a B- By far the game is the best looking MMORPG on the market, the graphics especially in the Jade ocean are awesome. The RPG aspect of the game is a bit lacking when compared to EQII and DAOC, however the lack of level grinding ala WOW is welcome. I understand that it is free to play online, but is two new characters and a new area worth $50.00. What do you think? Pros Two new characters New areas to search New quest Always plently of players online Cons. Only two new characters Still no auction house Quest are sometimes boring Not enough variety in armor and weapons |

I like the idea of new PvE content for the levelling up, so I may go for it on that. I didn't have much time so only got a limited impression of it.
I actually really liked their assassin, different than the typical mmo approach. Though it was pretty painful running with the npcs - I'd probably only break it out when a real group was available. Anyone try out the ritualist? I'm curious about that one. |

If I might add in, I also believe there are new PvP/GvG options as well, like factional combat. From what I understand it'll be a bit like in Planetside where you can fight over territory, though perhaps not on such a scale all at once (like maybe a fight would decide the fate of one base rather than an entire region).
But I may well be wrong. |
