It's suppost to be similar to UO and Shadowbane.

Open end PVP with full loot. Exciting stuff.

This is one of those 3-years-late games that's going to have a tough time surviving (like Shadowbane). Lots of cool ideas, but... too bad it took too long to implement.

re: the clan beta, I think apps closed for that some months ago. Late last year I posted here about it asking people to PM me on the Darkfall forums so we could apply for it, but I only got 3 or 4 responses.

Hmmm, FPS combat and friendly fire (AoE, what is that?). I think it warrants a look with it's skill based level system, but if the web site is any indication, we will be trying WAR before this even hits beta......

Followed it closely for a while but like IJS says its long past its time it should have been out a year ago. I am still playing shadowbane, truly a classic game that I have been playing off and on since 2003. I think darkfall had all the potential to be shadowbanes successor, but as time goes on, new games come out, graphics become out dated and people get frustrated.

I don't think the average mmorpg player would stay in darkfall, much like after I burnt my 1st city in shadowbane many people quit, camping cities for hours, breaking peoples equipment, rolling their xp groups, burning their city that they spent hours farming up to rank. Play to crush style isnt for everyone.

My motto in shadowbane was you farm gold, I'll farm you. I think the general player will prefer an rvr game to a ffa game. But when shadowbane finally closes next week, it will be a sad day in gaming history.

Yah Karma Ubisoft finally fired all the wolfpack employees. The game for all intents ends on the 15th, but these last few nights have been the kind of mmorpg gaming that can only be imagined.

Massive battles, banes flying everywhere, huge seiges, catapults, spies, mine fights and free for all's in the vendor cities.

My city got burnt tuesday night. I was fighting from 6pm to 3am, man was I dragging at work. But, its been that fun. For those that put the time in shadowbane really leaves yah with a real sense of fun and these days we all just say good fight regardless of who gets crushed.

For those that never tried shadowbane and dont mind getting killed, its still free and they are saying it might continue after the 15th but with no support. Its worth a look only takes a few days to max a character, its not a grind like other mmo's.
