Default Horizons

Any one playing this I have downloaded and going to try it out(14 day trial)

I must confess I was thrilled to find an actual mine on the starter island, hope more of this in the main game.First time I have struck this even Irth online had the pathetic pick, pick at boulder mining.

Any comments appreciated.

I played at relaease for a couple of months they had some great ideas, especially the community projects to get open up other areas. Bit unpolished and the content was not there but that was quite a bit ago.

I played this during late beta and about 6 months into release. No usuable drops, an economy run purely by crafters, a massive lack of quests, cities with no life, massive empty countryside ..... a game with massive promise and a company that broke all of those promises.

If I ever go back, may the powers that be stike me down dead on the spot.

PLayed the game for a couple of months. Pretty much agree with all coments here. Had a lot of promise but in the end was just dead boring. A real shame really as its server wide crafting projects to open server content was very well done I thought.

I played it for a while after release it was my first mmo, playing a dragon was cool but it turn into a huge grind ,the content was lacking and i found the crafting was unbearable boring but that was over a year ago if you are intrested in staying and playing it I would be more than happy to point you towards some great ppl that used to play and might still be there.

It was my first MMO too, and I'm still active on the Chaos server. I still logon once or twice a week. If you're still playing and you're on Chaos, look up Ingo (human pally) or Ogni (dragon).

I've seen too many "shady billing practices" posts to even consider trying this game out. It's a shame as I've heard both good and bad about it.

Huh? There were problems with the original billing company used in North America (was a major internet porn biller), but that was changed over a year and a half ago. There are all sorts of problems in Europe, but that's because the European server is run by GN (Games Network, I believe) and Tulga Games can't end that contract. GN is unreliable, no support, no world events, etc. Many European players are cancelling their accounts and starting over on North American servers.

Although the free trial requires a credit card to start, you can go to the billing page right after you sign up and cancel the billing, then play for the free trial period.

Can you do that nowadays? When I originally bought Horizons I could only select the Euro servers since I connected from Sweden, even though the game itself was bought in the US. As my plan then was to join up with some US friends, this was quite a turn-off.
