Speculation on new Blizzard MMORPG titles

There is an entry in Tobold's MMORPG blog that talks some about speculations of a Starcraft MMORPG, based on a Vivendi Games presentation filed with SEC:

Hi Sente,

Thanks for sharing that bit of news. Perhaps one of our other TOG Journos that are heavy into WoW may like to pick that SEC filing apart for a news piece, hint hint.

I'm not too sure if a "World of Starcraft" would be a MMORPG per say. It may become a MMOFPS sorta like Planetside from SOE. Webzen in South Korea is making a MMOFPS called Huxley. Starcraft as a MMOFPS makes more sense at least to me.

A Diablo MMORPG, perhaps could resemble something a DDO or Guild Wars in how it's set up. Then strictly another WoW clone, which would give Blizzard an edge in that Hybrid MMORPG genre.

While I'm not a huge fan of Penny Arcade, they did do a funny comic about the possibility of a Starcraft MMO found here.

Honestly I like the MMOFPS idea, though I'd prefer it had some RPG stuff thrown in for good measure. It's just too cool a world NOT to include that stuff.
