Flying Labs Software will announce this weekend August 25-27th at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) the release date for their latest MMO - Pirates of the Burning Sea. http://www.flyinglab.com/pirates/index.php
Hopefully, it will be soon and hopefully they will announce open beta as well.

(Limited beta testing started Dec. 2005.)

EDIT: Oh, should mention that if it releases in June 2007, it will have been in development closer to six years... I think they started in 2001. The original release date was fall 2003, which means if it releases in June, it will ship almost four years late.

Wonder if it'll look and feel that way? It's got great potential, but it seems that other games that took forever to get out the door tended to crash and burn. Very pretty burning, but burning all the same.
