Yeah I also got it cheap at EB, I think I have played it for all of 5 mins. I suppose I should give it another go.

Theres some old classic being dug out of the bag in these posts....what I find surprising is theres still small community's out there playin around with the games.....

Looks like this retro board was a bloody fantastic idea....

Yerah, I'm dying to have a bit of online duke3d carnage. There is a map I think is great for 2-4 player fun that I think people should get, it is called AnslemX i think. I need to locate it again heh.

And yeah glad you like the board, I thought about it ages ago and only recently suggested to Father that it be added. Guess its gone over pretty well so far.

See the trick is you dont run 'servers' in the traditional sense, you host a game ad hoc. At least I am no aware of any way to do more than that, thats just how it was designed back then.

There was a great small map I recall called 'street' which provided a long street and heaps of buildings to snipe from. Plus lots of doors in which you could set up elaborate tripwire traps.

The only trouble was with the pistol bug. In DN3D the pistol was wildly accurate at long range. You can slowly take someone down without them ever seeing you. Being a long street you could stand up one end and just pop pop pop the other guy.

Heh, I seldom used the pistol in my last multiplayer duke games. Which were like when I played over modem with a friend every weekend for like hours. We used to chug the crap out of our pcs both creating elaborate networks of tripwires by adjusting the game conf for allowing 99 of them to be held at once

Is the 'street' map the one with the Terminator spoof in one of the buildings? That was one of my fave mulitplayer maps.

Also the subway map!
