Cool c64 Game Music!

I don't know about you but one of the things that I loved, and still love today, about my c64 was the awsome tunes coaxed out of it by geniuses such as Rob Hubbard. Too many to mention here, there were some absolute classics.

If, like me, these tunes still send a shiver of nostalgia up yer back check out this website for some very cool remixes

I was thinking more of Commodore 64 music. Stuff like the Ocean Load Screen music, Wizball, The Last Ninja. There were some seriously awsome tunes coaxed out of that chip

Man, I've got pretty much every C64 tune ever released on my hard drive. I'll happily send them to you if you want - all indexed and ready to play with a player.

Rob Hubbard was a particular favourite C64 musician of mine - with tunes like Sanxion and Mega Apocalypse. What a great sound chip that computer had. It was the filters that really set it apart from everything else that was out. Being able to do low-pass sweeps really transformed the computer music scene, and I think the C64 musicians influenced a lot of 'proper' music - certainly in the electronic genre.

Try this site out for your nostalgic pleasure.

It's amazing to think that they could actually sell games just on the name of the bloke who did the music. Things sure have changed, I don't think I could name one person who produces the music for current games.

I've always wanted to try and make some old school 'demoscene' music like what we heard on the C64 and Amiga. Anyone into this?

The Last Ninja, Outrun, Maniac Mansion. All very cool tunes.
Jeroen Tel is a name I still hear around the traps, he did Outrun.
An old friend of mine starting his music on the C64 and never went back.

Check his site at Mick Rippon Music . Follw his links to Fairlight to hear some modern stuff by Jeroen Tel.
