Mine was a Game & Watch: Helmet.

Given to me in Christmas 1980 or 81 by my neighbours who had just picked it up in Hong Kong. I played it so much that Christmas day that my mum took the batteries out. I screamed. Hard.

When the batteries were put back in, the clock blinked 12:00, you see. It was BROKEN!! I screamed some more. Mum had to go next door and ask the neighbours to set the clock for me so I would stop screaming.

Mum and I were just talking about that the other day. Funny sh1t.

My first was a Game & Watch Manhole - the original brown one, not the re-released blue 'widescreen' one . Like others, it was either a birthday or xmas present and it got a great deal of use. Hmm, might have to go and look for one on ebay now...

For the G&W fans who are keen, Nintendo Japan released a club members only cart for the DS which has Donkey Kong, Green House and Oil Panic, and are pretty much perfect clones of the original G&Ws. You can find them on ebay. Definitely worth tracking down for reaching that nostalgic high.

How much would these hand held retro things be worth these days? I'm cleaning out house and finding all these things and wondering if they'd be of value and worth storage.

I have the old hand held Donkey Kong 1, 2, Junior, a lot more hand held Nintendo games like Mario Bros. I also have the old NES Famicom, the SNES, a Playstation.

Are they worth trying to sell?
