Default What was your first hand held?

Hand-Held Football Games

I had both the colleco and mattel versions, But Mattel was my first (I broke it after about 6 months and saved me money for the colleco). It was the next best thing to atari for those long family vacations.

man, there are some old memories...I know I had the donkey kong one with 2 screens - someone had posted pics of it in another thread here.

I had a few of them but I think they were stored in the part of my brain where the dementia is kicking in, coz I can't remember which ones they were.

I had the Donkey Kong jr one - (I think it was) only had the one screen. Though really the first type of these games i had was the space invaders style calculator - it was the rage back in school as we could pretend it was a normal calc and then play the spacie game on it (which was just connect the line to make up the 8 lol).

I had a hand held called BattleStar Galactica Space Alert. Loved it to bits and god was I good at it.

Followed it up with Sub Chaser and Armoured Battle.

If your interested in playing a few of these a guy has re-created them to play and can be found here.

Have fun.

Default Im with you

Ya Worzi same here. I played the hell out of that football game. I would try to flip the score board and if I remember correctly it would freeze up cause it didn't do more than 2 digit numbers.

I forgot all about that game. I dont recall actually owning it, I think I played a friends quite a bit though. I do remember having a space invader type version of that. It had a 1/4 inch joystick to move the guy back and forth.

Mine was Donkey Kong, the one in the 70s-kitchen shade of orange. I had Parachute too, not sure which one I had first though.

You mean apart from the ones playing 'spacies' on their Casio FX82 calculators at school in the 80's

I had a very basic basketball game, in the mid-late 80's which was on an lcd screen.
Only had a few buttons, and how hard you pressed the fire button, got the ball in the hoop.
