I can never pick just one.

Shooter: System Shock or Terminator: Future Shock
Platformer: Sonic or Ghosts n Goblins.
Fighting: Bushido Blade or Barbarian (C64)
Action: Gunstar Heroes or Tenchu
RPG: Kings Quest IV or Ultima 7
Racing: Wipeout, Stunts or Racing Destruction Set (C64)
Strategy: Master of Orion, Ascendancy, Master of Magic
Sim: Tie Fighter or Mech Warrior 2
. . . .

Frontier2 ( Elite 3 ). It's been made even better now by a russian team with updated graphics and wotnot. You can download it for free at spacesimcentral.com. Well worth a go.

And Bubble Bobble, arcade version........ Oh and Shadow of the Colossus on the PS2, Secret of Mana 1 & 2 on the snes. No. 2 only available on the Jap snes and U.S. famicom. I've only played a couple of years back on an emulator. The same with Chrono Trigger, Which I could also add to this list......

Can't really decide which of these out rank the other, but to be honest. I could make this list a wholle lot bigger. There's just too much classic stuff out there. But that won't help anything

since it's about retro and nostalgia.. i would say Mario, i believe it's the most memorable game that have accompanied the older gamers' childhood

not to forget Doom.

For retro-RPGs, I'm torn between Legend of Zelda: A link to the Past and The Secret of Mana.

Lol - Elite - I remember playing it on a Spectrum. Not sure how many hours I spent on it, but I remember being sooo excited about it.

If I had to pick the game I enjoyed the most and for the longest time I would have to say it was my first MMORPG - Ultima Online. Still miss some of the player housing mechanics that I haven't seen in an onliner since

For me it's a toss up between Wing Comander: Privateer and the 1st UFO game. I still go back and play those game and I am still waiting for somthing as good. New games like X3 and the new UFO games are OK but still not as good. I'm still mad about the control in Freelancer (No Joysticks WTF!!)

OMG Privateer was so much fun! UFO I didn't play until about two years ago, and it's still holds up. I enjoyed it.

My picks:
Master of Magic
Quakeworld TeamFortress
Ultima V
Castlevania SoTN on PSX
Tekken 2/3

Super Fine Pitch
