I'm a student pilot (well, a pilot but I'm still training

) and one of the guys who owns my flying school has an old arcade table there, one of the sit down ones with thirty odd games in it.
Every now and again he runs a competition where whoever gets the high score for the month in a nominated game wins a free hours hire of an aircraft.
Recently the prize moved up in scope a little; as well as the flying school he's a captain with Virgin Blue and the prize for that month, for the highest score in Pacman was two sectors in the jump-seat (in the cockpit) of a 737 with him!
I'm happy to say I won it, and we're booking that flight in for this month sometime.
All those years, my old man told me to stop playing those stupid games as I'd never get anywhere doing that, but finally it has paid off
I may play WAR, L4D and numerous other high tech games these days, but I'll always have a soft spot for those wonderful, simple and addictive games that ensnared me when I was a nipper and still haven't lost their magic.
