Win 95 retail/b/c was essentially dos 7 with a pretty GUI and could run pure dos games with config.sys and autoexec.bat setup to boot to a dos prompt rather than windows. Very occasionally a dos game wouldn't run properly under dos 7, they can be set to run under a prior dos version mode.

All that's needed is CD and mouse dos drivers.

Don't ask me any more about this, it's been way too long since I did any dos boot tweaking. About the only thing I remember is my best base memory results (622k xms and 605k ems).
