Default Calling Games Collectors - Victoria

Hi All,

I am currently working for the Australian Centre for the Moving Image as a Regional Programs Coordinator for the upcoming exhibition

Game Masters: Discover the Worlds Greatest Video Games and their Creators 2012

We have a series of linked satelite events happening in the outer metro and regional areas of Victoria, at this stage with a focus on Ballarat and Geelong.

As part of this program we are hosting a Special Event the Game Collector's Roadshow. Basically the event will be a:

Multi-location Collectors Event within Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria.
A one-day specialised event for Retro-game collectors who have a passion for playing and collecting retro video games, hardware and associated paraphernalia.

I am posting here as I am hoping to guage for my initial research any potential regional 'hotspots' for collectors, or even find collectors who would be potentially interested in participating in a panel discussion, exhibiting their collection and connecting with like minded folk across Victoria.

If you yourself are a collector who fits this bill, or know of any particular communities who you think might be interested then I would love to hear from you!

Many Thanks!

What type of games?
What type of platform?

These questions might be useful to ask.

There are many types of media for platforms, ie these days it could be pc,console, or mobile such as ipad, iphone, android etc.

or retro consoles, computer pc's etc?
