Last year, we brought you news that the no holds bared, smash-em-up racer from
Criterion Games,
Burnout Paradise was due to speed onto PC's worldwide at some point in the future.
Today, we have further news - including a North American release date, which seems to indicate that we may be seeing the title on the PC very soon, along with the release of premium downloadable content on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Dubbed the "
Ultimate Box", the PC release of
Burnout Paradise will see the inclusion of all previously released downloadable content, along with enhanced multiplayer capabilities.
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box on PC is due to be available in the United States on the 5th February, and should be available in Europe on the 6th of February. Where Australia fits in is not yet known, but given that
Electronic Arts are handling the distribution of the title, there
shouldn't be a very long delay.
Shortly before
The Ultimate Box hits PCs, a premium downloadable content pack will be released on the Xbox 360 Marketplace and PlayStation Store, which will introduce a new "Party pack" mode - allowing for different stunt, speed and skill-based modes to be experienced by multiple people off-line in "pass-the-pad" style. The premium downloadable content will be available on the 5th of February, at a price not yet to be confirmed.
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box will see a number of enhancements brought to usher in the shift of the game to the PC. The PC version will boast support for multiple displays, "ultra-high resolution graphics", motion blur, soft shadowing, and a number of other graphics technologies.
