Default Possible new Skyrim Trailer

I know the teaser was just recently released but apparently they've apparently released a new cinematic trailer with voiceover from the teaser, not sure if it's legit or not but it's amazing all the same. So check it out all you Skyrim fans.

Fake, half of the footage is from a Warhammer intro.

They're actually quite low requirements compared to what Oblivion needed in it's day.

But... and this is a bit sad - it's being cross-platform developed, so is made to run on six year old consoles, so it's no huge surprise. And DX9??? srsly?? sadface

Ahh well, it'll still be the game that it is, and that's enough for me for now. Would be nice to be a benchmark setting gfx engine though

That's pretty standard specs for a cross platform game nowadays. 360 has 3 cores, PS3 has like 6. PC is variable so make it 4 recommended and code for a system that can run three concurrent threads and you have all your bases covered. Once you have the base thread paths down do a bit of backporting for dual core machines and you're golden.

The 3Ghz recommended clock rate seems a tad high, I suspect they found some nice optimisations on the 360/PS3 that just aren't possible to guarantee on a wide range of PCs.

One of the massive benefits about fixed hardware (consoles) and having thousands of really smart developers all programming for it and sharing ideas is that over time they discover some insanely crazy tricks to make it do stuff it was never really intended to do. That's why you never saw games like God of War when the PS2 first released, it took years for all the "black magic" ideas and tricks for using it's vector processor in unforeseen ways to emerge and we saw games of a visual quality that weren't even conceivable when the system first launched. The same seems to have been happening on the 360 and PS3 in recent years.

Yup - November date is locked in tight apparently. One of my favourite activities was burglary There was a mod for Oblivion that put ladders and planks on the main buildings in the main cities - was pretty cool going from roof-top to roof-top trying to avoid being seen by the guards Not to mention the spell protection on decent chests

Here's hoping Skyrim is at least as good as Oblivion...
