Default Trine 2 to have co-op

(Original Trine discussed in TOG Games Industry Podcast - Episode 6)
Trine is a physics-based action game where three characters allow clever solutions to challenges created by hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics - each character's different abilities and tactics can be used to invent new ways to overcome obstacles and save the kingdom!

Trine 2

[Trine 2] The game basically is taking the “more of everything” approach that most sequels fall back on. The game looks great, recapturing the original's vibrant color scheme, but it's the many new additions that make the game so intriguing. The first improvement is three player co-op, which is something most gamers who played the first will be happy to hear. The game's three classes (Knight, Wizard, and Thief) will also get new abilities as well as new specializations.

Finnish game developer Frozenbyte has announced that their artists have just completed their part of work in Trine 2™, thus allowing them to kick back, relax, and mess around with various video materials and come up with a cool new trailer. Here's what Frozenbyte's CEO, Lauri Hyvärinen, had to say: "We just love creating awesome videos and this one is special in many ways, reflecting the mood and feeling of what Trine 2 will offer."

Regarding the game's release date, Lauri Hyvärinen continued: "There is still a lot of work to do – our programmers are working hard to ensure that the game ships bug-free and that all of the gameplay features match the quality level we want. The game will be released once we have completed our work and the game has passed all the console-related quality assurance processes, so we are still a few months away. Ultimately we decided that we don't want to rush things – our goal is to make Trine 2 one of the best if not the best downloadable game of 2011 and we'll stick to that."
