Default Master of Orion (MOO) & (MOO 2)

Does any one here remember these classics?

My preference was MOO 2.

There is a guy working on a java version of MOO.

I loved the first one. The second one was OK but didn't bother with the last.

Did anyone else play a game called Ascendancy from Virgin Games, was a very cool game like MOO.

I followed MOO3 game developments for a few years and was sooooo disappointed in the final game.

I cant wait for the java based game to be finished.
I loved MOO, loved 65000 enemy ships attacking me.

Default Ascendancy

I still play that game...
I wish there was a second Ascendancy with multiplayer.
That was the game for me!

So glad you weren't talking about MOO3. A more rancid pile of steaming goat-trodden rejected dog crap I've never seen.

The java version of MOO certainly looks interesting though.

I installed MOO2 last night and played my first game in two and a half years.
I have to say that I quite enjoyed it. :P
My next effort is to try and find a server that I can play online with.
I never had internet access when I first bought this game, and because of the age of it, this may prove to be a challenge.

If anyone knows where it is still played, I be would be much appreciated.

Chumpy, I also reinstalled MOO2 and played two games on it recently ...

***snap***

I'd be interested in finding the multiplayer server as well. (takes quite a while to play though) I havent played it multiplayer, but i remember reading that you can set up the server to do turn based or time based action.

I remember another thread on the topic that MOO3 was a steaming pile of urea and other undigested elements.

I found a applicaiton similar to COGS called KALI, thats suppose to support MOO2.
I installed it, but couldnt figure out how to locate a MOO2 server.

Maybe we can go head to head?

If you knew you internet IP address we could maybe trick MOO2 into thinking we were playing a LAN game.

I am assuming its supports IP LAN games, I will check tonight when I get home.

Let me know if your interested.
