Finished normal on the weekend (limited play time with work and other games so I am quiet slow)..

It was pretty easy all the way through and missing that 'terror' aspect of the original. I only lost 1-2 guys the whole way through, usually because I did something stupid on my very last move of the turn..

The ending was nice, though a little bit easy considering my 1 sniper just double tapped the guy. I was having a much harder time just getting to the last guy with all the other critters along the way.

Oh well, I may try Classic, but probably just play the odd normal game for fun now and then.

It's a nice game.. still prefer the original though

The difficulty gradient between Normal and Classic is a bit too steep. I can't imagine what Impossible must be like...

I'm owning on classic ironman but I've lost quite a few countries and I'm running out of cash. Tactically, I'm covered, strategically, cash is hard. When you have to choose one of the three abduction missions, you know you're going to lose two countries in one hit.

Question: I've had a country at 5 red bars meaning they'll leave the council. On three occasions I've put up satellites against the 5 bars but they left the council anyway. Anyone managed to 'save' a 5 bar country? If not, I'll just write off that country and put my sats to better use next time

I can't believe how many times I've had to restart, I think tonight will be my 3rd attempt. I'm playing Classic mode. I've started in Asia and NA. In both cases by the second month I have so many countries in panic mode, and I'm not able to launch enough satellites to settle everyone down. I don't have a problem with the combat, I've yet to lose a soldier - my challenges are within the micromanagement of the HQ.

I found a build sequence online that I am going to try tonight.

Overall, I love the game, it has a couple of LOS issues, but that's forgivable.

having a great time with this. I must admit i have had a few rage quit moments >.>

I still dont understand how i constantly crit kill with 30-40% chance hits yet completely miss shots at 80-90% instead.
