So i grabbed a copy and heres my thoughts.First thing that struck me is that the opening/cut scenes are very PS2 in look, disappointing. So from the main menu i took on the tute missions then the main campaign.
If you've played XCOM then the layout of the missions are very much the same, infact its very simplistic with only objectives like - get a to x, cleanse room x, x number of terminators must survive etc. A small info box on the bottom right gives dice roll scores and other info. Each termy gets action points and the squad(s) get combat points as a whole so some planning is required when allocating points for actions for each termy.
Librarians come with some psi actions as well, which come in handy with ten 'stealers coming down the corridor at an empty flamer(reloads cost action points).
So to my gripes - My biggest one is that the 40K universe still gets another game that doesn't do it justice.
With such limited graphics onscreen, i think it demands very high resolution graphics, on the models and the terrain.
No options to develop your termys with xp or customise and no mission stat breakdowns.
Wheres the mod options? No map editor at release time is a big negative in my book.
The metascore on steam is 56/100 - about right in my book. Wait for a sale around $15.
I've also got Space Hulk Death Angel Card game and both games compare well to each other.
