Might & Magic X - Legacy
There is something about ol'skool rpgs like this that appeals to me and just cant resist buying.
Graphics: old school. environements have just enough detail but for a 2014 release i was hoping for a little more. The enemies have enough detail to scare you, (spiders ahoy!) and the castles, dungeons, crypts and cave interiors are have a nice feel and atmosphere.
Fighting: The essence of combat is the one click as standard amongst this sub-genre. Weapons are swords, daggers, axes and bow/crossbow and spears. plenty of enchanted gear is for sale as well. Boss fights are pretty hard.
Magic: this is the key to gaining victory. Standard fireball and ice blasts do significant damage early. Druid magic is a must with your party members getting poisoned often. MU's get some nice enchanted items as well. Stock up potions!
Overall: So this game comes in under my $30 (24.99 usd) game budget but i feel thats overpriced by $10, at $15 it would compete with Legend of Grimrock, which i feel is a superior game (metacritic.com scores reflect this as well).
I am loving it and it definitely is bringing back memories.
Fair Ratings although I am happy with the price but that is based purely upon the good memories it is bringing back, the fun I am having and the hours I am getting out of it (I am always happy to pay a little more for something I really enjoy).
