unsure, but i think the creators of crysis made the game engine that farcry used and have gone on to make there own game

Was looking for crysis related posts and found this one, thought the following might dispell the confusion somewhat... Or not
 Crysis is Crytek's next-gen game, running CryEngine 2. The FarCry name is owned by Ubisoft and ran CryEngine (1). I believe FarCry2 is based on an enhanced CryEngine base which they obtained a license to courtesy of the original publishing deal.. (Going from old memory here, so probably confused). In short; FarCry2 is Ubisoft playing the Dev game instead of just being the publisher. Crysis is Crytek, with a second-gen engine and using EA as their publisher. Both games look dead set sexy though. Tis going to be one of the best gaming seasons in a long time.

This game has my interest big time. I'm in a bit of a quandry though. Upgrade my machine to a quad core with latest bling bling video card or get a PS3...
I have a 360, and have been playing most of my games on that. But I've been hearing that this title will be the first to push the PS3 to it's limits. Will have to wait and see what the reviews say. THis PS3 preview looks promising though Far Cry 2 PS3 Preview – Your Reading Corner |
