I just downloaded and played the Bioshock demo from Steam.

It ran flawlessly and looked a lot better than the last time I played it!
(different hardware)

I'll definitely get this game at some stage... added to my list

Be warned it get very same-y and repetitive towards the end, especially once the shine wears off.

I got so bored I never finished it.

This is not something that the demo gets across.

It's a great game but it does let itself down at the end, I was expecting something better from it than an escort mission and a boss fight.

Just for balance I thought I'd pipe up and say that I had a different experience; I enjoyed it all the way through and was sorry to see the credits roll.

Sure, the action doesn't vary a huge amount, the gameplay mechanics are that of a basic shooter underneath it all, but what made it for me was the atmosphere and story.

There is only one "silly" moment right near the very end that strikes me as disappointing, but overall one of the best gaming experiences I have had.

Fair enough, I'm not a huge fan of forced backtracking or respawning enemies. I like to completely clear an area and then move on.

I'm also a little biased because I could never shake that floaty feeling with the controls no matter how I tweaked them.
