Just upgraded to an E6850 dual core thinking that mulei-core support for games was still a little while out - I guess I will be upgrading to the equivalent quad when teh $$ drops into the sweet spot.

I upgrade to E6850 dual 3.0 gigahertz (upgrade to quad in 12 months)
4 gig RAM
GeForce 8800 GTS 640 Meg
Win XP Pro (will upgrade when games shift to DX10)
Dual 22inch wide screen Asus monitors (23 ms response time, 2000:1 contrast ratio) - damned cheap at $380 per monitor.

Got it all put together at www.netgear.com.au for free - their hardware prices are so cheap they cannot possibly discount it. Any WA'ers out there shoudl check them out - good service, a dedicated support team and an optional home visit support. All up cost $2600.

After uploading and Playing the demo....I must say that Scrap the minimum and go the recommended or better....my PC runs it....the graphics card which is now slightly overclocked struggles with it gets a bit jerky at the higher res.....so a new GC will be the order of the day I was thinking a Nvidia GTS 8800....I can get one for $235 new (prob a generic with the nvidia chipset)...I forgot to ask how much ram it had though (will check monday)

So the plan will be to get up to at least a dual core something and MB to carry it..

Reason for this post?....think it would be a good idea for anyone of us who is upgrading etc to throw our ideas and experiances in the hat....and help etc

my basic specs atm

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.21 ghz
2 Gig ram (think still DDR400?)
Nvidia GT 7300 256 ddr2 ram (overclocked 10%)

Game runs ok at lower res.....but with my eye sight...I need a clearer pic

I'm suprised that first system isnt that far from were mine stands....but mine runs the game fine so there must be a big difference bettween the 7300 and 7600 ? Im going to get this GTS 8800 well see what happens if I could get a socket 939 AMD dual core that would be a bonus
