Default MOHPA

Well I picked up my copy of Medal of Honor Pacific Assault and started the SP missions.

So far I am very disappointed in the whole thing

I find the pace of the game slow and the new way of getting healed by a medic, while more 'realistic' is just too frustrating.

Boot camp?? 8O - gimme a break and let me shoot some frickin bad guys!!

Graphics are no hell compared to UO, I think the CoD developers have gotten so much more right than the MOH crew.

Just my opinion of course, feel free to disagree

While I may not be qualified to give my opinion-I have only played the PS2 version of this game, not the PC version-I'm going to give it to you anyways. :P

The game is just very limited, the aesthetics of it aren't as "tight" as CoD.
The Japanese running at you with a "Kamikaze" style of bayonet attack, while thrilling the first few times, is not enough to make up for the lack of level design. The levels, unless they've been revamped, look decent enough, but don't deliver the same combat effect as the choke points created in CoD. I played the game before I ever played CoD, and so, see myself as, somehow, less biased.

Moved to Shooting Range..

I played the Demo and much like the rest found it to be lacking in graphic's, game play, model design.
Maybe the MP will offer a better feel but it's not a game I will be spending my money on.

I bought it, and am taking it back on Monday.

Some bits of the game had me going WOW! (Pearl Harbor) etc. But some of the bugs are unforgiveable - AI that can shoot thru thick jungle of which they have no chance of actually seeing you. Being crouched behind some cover and on your screen there is absolutely nothing between you and your target - fire and you'll see you hitting that rock to the left of your screen. The idiotic team AI - nothing like being blown away in front of the corpsman and he doesnt heal you. I'm sure theres other things I've noticed but those are the ones that really erk me.

Is there anyone out there with further feedback about MOHPA? So far it would seem that this game isn't worth getting.

I found this review on Gamearena - http://www.gamearena.com.au/games/ti...viewid=2774916

Interesting to see that it has a game rating of 9 there when CoD and CoD:UO get 8.5. I can only assume that's because of the young punks don't really have a clue who voted.

As a very satisfied owner of every other MOH edition for PS2 and PC, I am contemplating asking Santa for a copy. What do you guys think?

If I do ask Santa for a copy do I go for the standard or director cut edition?

Mind you, at the moment I am having a blast with CoD and CoD:UO.

It's nothing compared to the original MOH-AA series!
As far SP goes, the graphics, sound and effects are better than CoD but the gameplay just isn't in the same league. MOH-AA and CoD are much better in my opinion. The MP is good though.

Single player CoD-UO is the best SP experience I've had so far!
(I haven't finished MOH-PA SP yet though but so far it's disappointing)

I finished SP because I'm stubborn, then gave my copy away to a friend that loves MOHAA. I didn't even bother with MP, CoD and UO are good enough for me.

Default PA

I got a PA from EB. Still not sure whether I will keep it.
I think the jungle fighting is an awesome experience, if only PA had COD graphics, speed and control.

My PC a 1.8Mhz with 786Mg memory is having a bit of trouble running PA.

I would love to see the makers of COD do a game on the Pacific war.
It's quite a different experience to know the enemy is in plain sight
but very hard to spot before they shoot you.

I will reserve further judgement for a couple of nights.
