Default Info on MOH : Airborne v1.2 Patch

  • Number of players has been raised to 24
  • We’ve added 2 NEW MULTIPLAYER MAPS, Varsity and Market Garden, both built specifically with the increased player counts in mind
  • Front end and score screens have been changed to handle the increased number of players
  • Server lists are now much easier to navigate
  • All weapons have been tuned and rebalanced
  • Clan tag support has been added
  • You can now assign yourself a player name which is different from your login
  • Spawn points have been adjusted in all maps

Looks like we don't have to stick with the login name anymore

That's a good looking patch!

I might just have to dust of the old DVD and give this a try. That server UI was terrible... and no local servers didn't help either... if that has changed enough, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the heads up!

We’re hard at work getting Update 1.2 out as soon as possible and will be releasing additional information throughout the week.

As for Objective mode, it did not make it into Update 1.2, but it is well underway. Based on community feedback, we’ve already begun work on Update 1.3 as we continue to make improvements to Airborne. Along with a couple more surprises, Objective mode will go into that patch. We have been play testing it quite a bit and are excited to get it out as soon as it is done.

Look for more information on 1.3 in the coming weeks.
Updates bout the patch from PlanetMOH
They even have 3 screenies for the new Factory multiplayer map.
Looks like its shaping up nicely however I'm unsure if the community is still strongly supporting the game itself.

well,

MOHAA was an awesome game from EA (and still is!)
MOHAA Spearhead improved on this even more!
MOHAA Breakthrough polished it off beautifully!

The community didn't take to Breakthrough for some strange reason... it had all the content of MOHAA and MOHAA Spearhead plus more including awesome maps/skins and a new excellent gametype called Liberation. It also fixed many exploits from both the previous releases.

MOH Pacific Assault
(i'd rather forget that one)

now,

I had great hopes with EA for MOH Airborne especially when the contracted with Even Balance for Punkbuster support. As a server admin I was very keen to set up a server and test this game all the way. Server admins complained about the fact that they had to have all the game loaded to run a server. I didn't think this was a big deal at all myself but many did. What turned me off setting up this game was I can't play it the way I like MOH Airborne won't let me bind my mousewheel to specific weapons (well it will in the menu but it doesn't work in-game). EA has given me zero help on this - link - which is very dissapointing concidering it's a common mouse.

I do have a test server i operate on occassions from home which runs well. I'm just not interested in giving this game much time until my mousewheel issue is sorted.

Yeah it does disappoints when a simple thing like binding keys doesn't work.
And it looks like the patch 1.2 details are out and it'll be released to the public around some time next week if all goes well.

Default v1.3 Update

Quote:
Objective Mode Update:

Since we announced that Objective Mode will be in Update 1.3 we have been seeing a lot of positive remarks. I wanted to assure everyone that we will be copying the original Objective Mode. All Players will start on the ground. All the rules will be the same as well. We have added a new feature when creating an Objective Mode game to allow players to set up Objective Mode the way they want to play. The following are new options when setting up a game:
  • Players can set the game up so that the Axis are always defending
  • Players can set the game up so that the Allies are always defending
  • Players can set the game up so that the winning team is defending
  • Players can set the game up so that the losing team is defending
  • Player can set the game up so that it is random who is defending
  • Stay tuned as we release more about Objective Mode and Update 1.3.
Objective mode returns in v1.3

great news!! i thought this would be added into the game

...but i can't play it if they don't sort the mousewheel issue
surely i'm not the only one who wants specific weapons bound to mousewheel up/down

spending time scrolling for weapons/equipment equals getting owned imo

True Ned
Anyways the patch is released and it weighs around 1.3gigs. Couldn't get it yet since the only place I know that has it is Fileplanet and it takes ages trying to queue up without a subscription.

This is the release of Update 1.2 for Medal of Honor Airborne.

This Update for Medal of Honor Airborne raises the player count, gives players more options for names, makes some balance changes on the weapons and adds two new maps.

The readme denotes that we do not support more than 12 players officially. This is simply due to the fact that some lower-end machines may have trouble handling the high capacity. However, we have tested extensively at 24 players and it’s a lot of fun!

Also, not called out in the readme was that the Springfield’s damage was reduced in multiplayer.

The Update size is large b/c all maps in multiplayer were edited, most often to adjust spawn points. We have also added two new maps.

The dedicated server is a new build of the server and will not patch the existing server. This is also because all the content has been touched. To patch the server would be almost as big as to release a new one. The Linux server is being worked on and will be updated as soon as possible.
